Jaguar F-Pace SVR

Finally a SUV with a proper unique character and symphony of an exhaust note!

If you were told 20 years ago that Jaguar nailed the perfect combination of madness and a family-friendly SUV, you wouldn’t hesitate to think that it was a lie. But here we are!

I’ve got my hands on the brand new 2024 Jaguar F-Pace SVR in a beautiful color combination. The car is fuelled up and roads are covered in snow making the car properly stand out in everyday Swedish traffic, there’s no time to waste.

The F-Pace was unveiled almost 10 years ago at a couple of Motor Shows in Germany and USA. And since then it’s been Jaguars strong contender to the premium crossover SUV-class and this 2024 SVR is by far the most exciting one so far made by the British automotive manufacturer.

Usually I would start with talking about the exterior and such features, but heck, it still looks very similar to what it did when it was unveiled in 2015 (which was not a bad design at all) but this car is all about the drive, the sounds and the way it handles.

Driving the SVR is insanely addictive, in short, the car feels like a raised F-Type on steroids and the sounds you get when opening up the exhaust by pressing the exhaust button are out of this world. Even though I’m driving it during the winter you can tell how planted this car is to the road when dry patches of asphalt show up under the winter tires for not more than a few kilometers at a time.

In Dynamic mode, which I think is the right mode to drive this car in- you can have the suspension stiffen up along with the steering, throttle and brake input be adjusted to a more spirited driving style. All of which making the car handle in the fantastic way it does. For a SUV, this is really impressive.

Even though not the fastest there is no doubt that it is at the top of pure driving experience and joy.

Inside the F-Pace SVR, things feel just as exciting as they do behind the wheel. The cabin leans into the sporty vibe with seats that hug you tight without sacrificing comfort — perfect for both spirited driving and longer road trips just like I did to beautiful Dalarna where there is always snow during the winter season.

Jaguar has gone for a clean, premium look with plenty of leather and contrast stitching, and overall build quality feels solid in this car. The infotainment system looks great and is easy to use, even if it’s not the fastest out there.

Thankfully, physical controls for climate and volume are still in place, which makes a big difference when you are on the move. The layout is nicely driver-focused, and even though the back seats aren’t massive, they’re roomy enough for daily use.

A big thumbs up from me to Jaguar for creating this special SUV. I wish all petrolheads could take it for a spin to experience what it's all about.

I hope Jaguar doesn't let go of models like these in the future and that their racing DNA still gets celebrated in true fashion by creating ridiculous cars that really doesn't make sense for any other person than a car nerd.
